International Court of Justice

International Court of justice, also known as "the Hague International Tribunal" and "the Hague International Court of justice" , one of the six major organs of the United Nations and the main judicial organ of the United Nations, was officially established on April 3, 1946. Its headquarters is located in the Peace Palace in the center of the Hague, the Netherlands. The International Court of justice is the only universal international court with general jurisdiction. Its main function is to arbitrate cases submitted by States, or provide advisory judicial advice at the request of the United Nations General Assembly and Security Council, and try cases suspected of violating international law. The Hague International Court of justice is different from the Hague International Arbitration Tribunal.
