The famous travel series of lonely planet was published by Tony Wheeler and Maureen Wheeler in fuzkley, the western suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in 1972 (footscray). The series has published a total of 650 themes and is sold in 200 countries and regions around the world, accounting for about one quarter of the global sales of English travel guides. It is known as the "Bible" for backpackers. It first landed in the Chinese market in 2006.
