Chapters is the first brand of chain bookstores in Canada. It is well-known in Canada. It was formed by the merger of Coles and Smith books, the two largest bookstores in Canada in 1995. In 2001, chapters merged with another large chain bookstore and jointly belonged to indigo book and music publishing group.
