The agency for Cultural Affairs Media Arts Festival (Japan Media Arts Festival) is one of the three major index awards of Japanese animation (the other two are Kobe Animation Award and Tokyo Animation Award). It is hosted by the Department of culture, Ministry of education, science and technology of Japan and has been issued since 1997. The awards involve art, entertainment, animation and comics.
