Group of 20

The group of 20 (G20) is an important global economic cooperation forum. It is an informal mechanism within the framework of the Bretton Woods system. It was established in Washington, D.C. on September 25, 1999. It is composed of the original group of eight (the United States, Japan, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Canada and Russia) and 11 important emerging industrial countries (China, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey) plus a community (EU).
