british library (the British Library; also known as the British Library and the British National Library) is a leading academic library in the world. It is the National Library of the UK. Its predecessor is the British Museum Library established in 1753. It is composed of the former British Museum Library, the National Central Library, the national lending science and Technology Library and the National Bibliographic Publishing House of the UK.
