Tokyo Foreign Studies University (TUFS) was established in 1897 and opened university education in 1949. Tokyo Foreign Studies University has the Department of foreign languages and the Department of regional culture studies of the University. Tokyo Foreign Studies University originated from fan shudiao Institute in 1857. It is one of the oldest universities in Japan. Later, it became the Foreign Languages Department of Tokyo University and became independent again.
