Consumer Financial Protection Agency (United States Consumer Financial Protection Bureau; abbreviated as cfpb) is a U.S. federal government agency, established in 2011, funded by the Federal Reserve and subordinate to the U.S. Department of finance. It is mainly responsible for supervising U.S. financial institutions with assets of more than US $10 billion and promoting fair and transparent mortgage loans, credit cards and other consumer financial products and services.
