Rodong Sinmun is the organ newspaper of the Central Committee of the Korean workers' party. It is published and distributed by Rodong Sinmun. It is the mainstream newspaper and media in North Korea. Founded on November 1, 1945, it was originally called "avant-garde", also known as "Zhenglu" (정 로). The newspaper mainly provides information on the social and political life of North Korea for members of the Korean workers' party, state cadres, workers, farmers and intellectuals.
