New York City Football Club (hereinafter referred to as New York City FC) is a team of major league football (MLS) in the United States. In 2013, it was announced to be the 20th team to join MLS. The equity of New York City FC is owned by Manchester City and the New York Yankees, and Manchester city owns most of its shares. In 2014, former Chelsea star Frank Lampard announced to join New York City FC.
