Athens Academy of fine arts, the first art school in Greece, was established in 1837. The school aims to cultivate art talents. The school implements the teaching principles of combining art and technology, hands and brains, and learning the combination of tradition and innovation. Students undergo strict basic aesthetic training, flexible creative practice and skill operation practice, and have strong practical ability. In 1843, the art school was divided into three parts: 1 Supplementary education and handicraft courses in amateur schools; 2. Provide full-time courses for young students committed to industrial handicrafts; 3. Full time colleges and universities teaching art courses. The third part of the school is called the Athens art school, and is the pioneer of the real Athens art school, teaching painting, sculpture, architecture, lithography, wooden carving, geometry and cartography. The second part is called the school of industrial art, which is also a technical school. After 1863, it has become an important element of Athens' industrial development.
