The German Astronomical Society (astronomische Gesellschaft) is an astronomical research society in Germany. Founded in 1863, it is the second oldest astronomical society after the Royal Astronomical Society of Britain. An important work achievement of the German astronomical society is the compilation of the German Astronomical Society catalogue (AGK catalogue).
