Rec (rural electrification) is an Indian power enterprise focusing on the development of national rural electrification projects. It is subordinate to the Ministry of electricity of the central public sector. It was established on July 25, 1969 to provide financial assistance for rural electrification projects. Its headquarters is located in New Delhi.
