Investec bank (Investec) international professional banking and asset management group was founded by Larry nestadt, Errol grolman and Ian canter in Johannesburg in 1974. It was initially a small leasing and financing company. In 1980, it obtained a bank license; in 1986, it was first listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in South Africa; in 1988, it was restructured into Investec Group Co., Ltd.; in 1992, it was acquired United Trust Bank Limited, headquartered in London, has entered the UK market. The group ranked 939th among the Forbes Global 2000 companies in 2014.
