Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is an international trade organization, established in 1960, headquartered in Vienna, Austria. Its members are mainly oil producing countries such as Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Kuwait, Qatar, Libya, the United Arab Emirates and Nigeria. Its main purpose is to coordinate and unify into one Member States' oil policies and prices to maintain oil revenues.
