The University of Cologne was founded in 1388. It is located in Cologne, the fourth largest city in Germany, on the West Bank of the beautiful Rhine River. Cologne University is a school of Arts and Sciences with no engineering major. The most famous major is economics and law. At present, there are more than 62000 students, more than 2100 professors and scientific researchers, and 2.2 million books in the library. Cologne University is one of the largest and earliest universities in Germany.
