Department of Homeland Security (United States Department of homeland security, DHS) is a federal administrative department in the United States. It was established in November 2002. It is mainly responsible for domestic security and the prevention of terrorist activities. It consists of the U.S. citizenship and immigration service, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Department of national protection and planning, the U.S. secret service and other agencies.
