The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA or ECA for short) is a branch of the United Nations, established in 1958, subordinate to the United Nations Economic and Social Council and headquartered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Its main purpose is to promote economic cooperation and exchanges among countries in Africa.
