The U.S. Air Force Space Command (AFSPC; U.S. Air Force Space Command) is a command under the U.S. air force. It was established in 1982 and is located at Peterson air force base, Colorado. It is mainly responsible for protecting the U.S. mainland with artificial satellites and intercontinental ballistic missiles.
