Japan Bank for international cooperation

The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), established in 1999, is the main executing agency for the implementation of government development assistance in Japan. Its predecessor was the Japan export and Import Bank (established in 1952) and the Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund (founded in 1961). The bank for international cooperation is mainly responsible for Japanese yen loans in government development assistance, and has offices in more than 20 countries and regions around the world.
