International Wildlife Conservation Society Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS; formerly known as the Zoological Society of New York) is the world's largest non-profit non-governmental wildlife conservation organization, which aims to protect wildlife and its habitat. It was established in 1895 and headquartered in New York. In the 1980s, WCS began to work in China and gradually carried out the Western Qiangtang conservation project, northeast tiger conservation project Reptile projects, wildlife trade projects in South China, and set up the "China border wildlife guard Award".
