Royal Society of England

Royal Society of England (the Royal Society; full name: Royal Society for the promotion of natural knowledge in London) is the most authoritative scientific and academic institution in Britain and the earliest and uninterrupted scientific society in history. It was established in 1660 to fund and promote the development of natural science. In 1662, 1663 and 1669, it obtained various Royal licenses, and the queen was the protector of the society.
