The Accademia delle Belle arti di Firenze is the first fine arts school in Europe. Founded in 1563 and located in Florence, Italy, it is known as "the mother of the World Academy of fine arts and the head of the four major fine arts colleges". The Florence Academy of fine arts now has a collection of famous art works such as the statue of David. The school has departments of painting, sculpture and design.
