The London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) is the first of the three major symphonies in the UK (the other two are the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchestra). It is also one of the highest level symphonies in the world. It was established in 1904. Its predecessor was the Queen's Hall Orchestra established in 1895. The London Symphony Orchestra represents the performance level of the UK.
