United States Army Academy at West Point The United States Military Academy at West Point (hereinafter referred to as West Point Military Academy) is a U.S. Army officer training institution. Founded in 1802, it is the first military school in the United States. West Point graduates will receive the rank of Bachelor of science and lieutenant, and must serve in the army for at least 5 years after graduation.
