M é decins sans fronti è res (MSF) is the largest independent medical rescue organization in the world. Founded in 1971 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, MSF is mainly committed to international humanitarian relief and provides medical assistance in war zones, disaster areas and remote areas. Most of its members are medical workers. MSF won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999.
