Norsk Hydro A.S., the largest industrial enterprise in Norway with 51% shares held by the government, was established in 1905. It is mainly engaged in oil, natural gas, chemical industry, light metals, chemical fertilizer, food, medicine, etc., especially in offshore oil, natural gas, aluminum product production, renewable energy sources and energy efficient decomposition. It is listed in Forbes Ranked 1061 among the top 2000 global enterprises in 2014. In 2007, Norsk Hydro and Statoil merged to form statoilasa.
