Bank for International Settlements

The bank for international settlement, a global banking group, was jointly established in May 1930 by the central banks of Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium and Japan, Morgan bank, which represents the interests of the U.S. banking community, and Citibank in New York and Chicago in accordance with the Hague International Agreement. It is headquartered in Basel, Switzerland and currently has 45 member countries.
