Mayo Clinic Mayo Clinic (also known as Mayo Clinic) is a world-famous private non-profit comprehensive medical institution. It was founded by Dr. Mayo in Rochester, Minnesota in 1864. It is one of the best hospitals in the United States. Mayo Clinic ranked first in the 2014-2015 USNEWS ranking of the best hospitals in the United States. Mayo Clinic once helped the University of Minnesota establish a medical school, and then established its own hospital Mayo Medical School.
