Weekly youth jump is the most widely circulated comic magazine in Japan, and it is also the first of the three major weekly youth comic magazines in Japan. The other two are weekly Youth magazine and weekly Youth Sunday. The magazine was founded on July 11, 1968 (Showa 43 years). It belongs to the Jiying society and the jump pirates are its mascot. In addition, the Chinese versions of the weekly youth jump are Taiwan's Treasure Island youth and Hong Kong's ex-am weekly.
