Tehran University is the largest and oldest comprehensive university in Iran. It is located in the center of Tehran and was founded in 1934. The university has established departments or colleges of natural science, humanities and Social Sciences, engineering, medicine, pharmacy, agriculture, law, politics, economy, life sciences, resources and environment, international trade and Islamic philosophy and law. In addition, it has also added specialties and research centers such as Middle East and archaeological research, social poverty alleviation investigation, prevention and treatment of malignant diseases and high-tech research.
