Clydesdale Bank of Scotland Clydesdale Bank is a commercial bank in Scotland. Before Glasgow was founded in 1838, it was the three smallest banks in Scotland. It operated independently until it was acquired by Wachovia in 1920, and then sold to its current owner, the National Bank of Australia in 1987. In 1863, Clydesdale Bank successfully acquired the Bank of Eastern Scotland Headquartered in Dundee, it has two independent offices, one in Dundee and the other in Edinburgh.
