Alrosa group, the world's second largest diamond producer after De Beers, was founded in 1992. It is headquartered in Russia and is mainly engaged in diamond manufacturing and sales. Its diamond reserves account for about one third of global diamond resources and has advanced exploration technology and equipment. The Russian government holds about 69% of the group and is an absolute major shareholder of Alrosa.
