The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) is the largest securities trading market in Africa. It was founded on November 8, 1887 and originated from the discovery of the Witwatersrand gold belt in 1886. The market value of JSE accounts for 75% of the total market value of Listed Companies in Africa. Nevertheless, JSE is only a medium-sized market in the global financial market.
