Ministry of land and transportation of Japan (Ministry of land, infrastructure, transport and tourism, abbreviated as MLIT) is one of the central provincial departments of Japan. It was established in 2001, formerly known as the Ministry of construction, the Ministry of transport, the Hokkaido development agency and the Department of land and resources. It is responsible for managing land planning, infrastructure construction, transportation, maritime safety, sightseeing, transportation and other affairs, with the meteorological agency and maritime Protection Agency under it Security department, tourism department and transportation safety committee.
