Environment Department

The environment department of the UK is the highest administrative body for managing environmental related affairs. It was established in 1970. It was formed by the merger of the original housing and local administration department, public construction department and transportation department. It is responsible for unified leadership, public construction, coordination of urban and rural planning, land planning and utilization, transportation, pollution prevention and environmental protection.
