The Swedish Ministry of defense is the highest military administrative organ in Sweden. It was established in 1920. It is responsible for formulating national defense policies, preparing national defense budgets, and approving the establishment, equipment and training plans of the army. Its armed forces are composed of the regular army and the National Guard. The regular army is divided into three services: land, sea and air.
